Reading with E-Books
Tuesday, December 16, 2008
When GPS drama teacher Catherine Bolden stepped down from her position as director of GPS Summer Camp Kaleidoscope, she still had plans to do something for young children. Instead of directing the summer camp stage shows, however, she turned her attention to putting imaginary and real life adventures into electronic books.

The e-books are available at www.marzipanstudios.com and include Coo-zoo the Goblin, Reese and the Bobo Mojo, and a family play, Zalozar and the Hidden Treasure of Osiden: A Hollywood Screenplay. The books can be read and/or downloaded on any computer and will include a readers guide.

Bolden’s love of reading is apparent in the Marzipan Studios theatre group which she organized to present live performances and participate in WSMC radio’s Read-With-Me program. The GPS and McCallie students who perform have experience in their school’s theatre programs, just as Bolden has experience on stage at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre where her performances have garnered her nine Best Actress awards.
