Entrance Exam

 

You may register for the Girls Preparatory School entrance exam by contacting the Admissions Office at (423) 634-7645, or by email admissions@gps.edu. You may schedule the entrance exam with an admissions counselor for a mutually beneficial time.

 

 

The entrance exam is developed by Girls Preparatory School administration and faculty to better serve GPS in class placement. Please note this is not the same entrance exam given by Baylor and McCallie schools. If applying to both GPS and Baylor, the applicant will need to take both the GPS admissions exam and the Baylor admissions exam.

 

 

The GPS Admissions test will consist of the following three parts:

 

1. Skills test measuring scholastic achievement (40 minutes)

 

2. In house math portion (45 minutes)

 

3. Middle School- reading comprehension portion (40 minutes)

 

Upper School- writing response to a passage that will help to assess reading and writing (40 minutes)

 

 

Total test time plus breaks will be 2.5 hours. There is no cost to take the test.
