Facilities

Girls Preparatory School students are fortunate to practice and compete in outstanding facilities. The multiple arenas are used for daily practice and championship events. Each year, representatives from city, state, and regional organizations ask to use GPS facilities for their competitions.  

The GPS facilities include the following:

• Three manicured playing fields for soccer and lacrosse.
• A Natatorium with an extended length, six-lane pool for swimmers and divers.
• Two gymnasiums with three full-size basketball and volleyball courts.
• An eight-lane polyurethane Olympic-size track that equals that of most major universities, a discus cage, shot put throwing area, and lights for night competition.
• Eight outdoor and four indoor tennis courts.
• A modern rowing facility on the banks of the Tennessee River.
• A championship softball field with adjacent batting cage and training stations.
• The GPS cross country home course is at Greenway Farm. The beautiful grass trails through the old farm are used for training and races.
• The golfers train at the prestigious Black Creek Club.
• The bowling team prepares and competes at the Hixson Lanes.
• All athletes use the 3000-square-foot strength training room throughout the year for development of speed and strength.
• Adjacent to the strength training room is a cardiovascular space that offers 18 machines as well as a cardio theater system.
