In 2003, GPS established an Athletic Hall of Fame to honor chosen alumnae/athletes and former coaches for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the GPS athletic program. The five charter members were GPS founder Eula Lea Jarnigan, honored posthumously; Dr. Janet Parks '60; Teresa Lawrence Phillips '76; longtime GPS coach and dance instructor Peggy Evans Thomas; and Peggy Patten Willingham '49.

Other individuals who have made a significant impact as advocates and supporters of the GPS athletic program may be considered for membership. Nominations may be made by alumnae or past or present faculty members, and will be accepted through November for the upcoming reunion in April.
