Yoga, Nia Offered to Middle School Students
Whether your middle school daughter is an athlete, a dancer, a musician, an aspiring actress, or in a category uniquely her own, this new, after-school offering is sure to be a hit! For a one-month session in November and a one-month session in January, GPS has arranged for two well-trained, dynamic instructors to lead girls in introductory level yoga and nia. During each 4-week session, nia will be taught on Monday, and yoga will be taught on Thursday. “I know about yoga, but what in the world is ‘nia,’ you ask?” Nia (acronym for neuromuscular integrative activity) is a workout engaging body, mind and spirit in an artistic, fun, and expressive style. A charge of $60 per session applies, and parents may either charge to their GPS account or send in a check to the Middle School Office. All payments must be received by Thursday, October 15th for the November session and by Thursday, December 10th for the January session. Your charge/check will secure your daughter’s spot in the class. Space is limited and will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Classes will take place in the Caldwell Commons of our Davenport Middle School Building from 4-5:15 p.m. on the designated days. No equipment is necessary.
Look for brochures/registration forms at Parents Day on Friday, September 25th or from Mrs. Johnson in the Middle School Office.
