Barrage (Sept. 30, 2008) -- Barrage, a high-octane string group that features an international, multi-talented cast performing an eclectic mix of music, song and dance, brings its show to Chattanooga on Tuesday, September 30. The performance will take place at 7 p.m. in the Frierson Theatre on the Girls Preparatory School campus. This public performance is part of the Barrage Educational Outreach Program and provides a rare opportunity for string students and the general public to see and interact with Barrage in a unique and intimate environment. GPS music students will enjoy the opportunity to interact with members of the group during the school day.
Barrage performances feature six violinists/vocalists, a drummer, bass player and guitarist. They offer up a diverse fusion of cultures, musical styles and incredible performance vitality. The music of Barrage continues to evolve, combining contemporary world music influences, layered vocal arrangements and pulsating modern beats and rhythms. The cast delivers the show with amazing energy and musical virtuosity.

The Traveling Foundry helped over 100 art students learn the art of making cast aluminum molds. The students' finished products are part of a public art installation on the green roof/patio outside the Student Center.
