About Girls Preparatory School

Essential Functions
- Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise the activities of custodial staff.
- Manage inspection protocols and individual performance evaluations to maximize quality and efficiency of all team members.
- Instructs all employees in the proper methods and use of materials and equipment for safe and efficient work performance.
- Review team’s time cards and monitor absences, reassigning work as necessary.
- Supervises and performs regular maintenance of equipment; makes repairs within abilities.
- Request and purchase supplies as needed, within budget guidelines.
- Responds to and takes appropriate actions in the event of emergency or critical incidents to resolve, confine or prevent potentially injurious or hazardous conditions.
- Complete housekeeping duties in specified area(s) and as backup to absent colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- At least four years of experience in custodial services. Supervisory experience, including knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment and supplies, is preferred.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Knowledge of O.S.H.A. requirements and the ability to routinely follow those guidelines and requirements.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use a work order system.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, vibrations, temperature and noise extremes, disease, pathogenic substances and toxic/poisonous agents.

Position Summary
The person in this role will lead a comprehensive alumnae and parent engagement strategy that deepens connection to GPS and builds understanding of the vital role philanthropy plays in advancing the school’s mission. The role oversees and activates key engagement channels including: the Parent Council, Alumnae Council, reunion committees, to drive meaningful participation, leadership, and philanthropic support.
The role champions a culture of gratitude, belonging, and recognition, ensuring volunteers feel valued and inspired by their impact. In addition, the position supports fundraising efforts by identifying and qualifying leadership and major gift prospects, soliciting Impact Fund gifts, and securing individual and corporate sponsorships for event-based fundraising initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Development, the person in this role will:
Alumnae & Parent Engagement
- Lead a comprehensive parent and alumnae engagement strategy that strengthens connection to GPS and intentionally builds understanding of the role philanthropy plays in advancing the school's mission;
- Oversee and activate key engagement channels including the Parent Council, Alumnae Council, Reunion Committees, events, and communications to drive meaningful participation, leadership, and philanthropic support.
- Oversee the logistical management of new family onboarding, educating parents on philanthropy, volunteerism, and the role they play in supporting GPS;
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Alumnae Council and Parent Council to the Development Office, ensuring the effective orchestration of event-based fundraising initiatives and championing participation in both community-building and philanthropic initiatives;
- Manage key alumnae and parent engagement functions, including the alumnae newsletter, past-parent newsletter, alumnae visits to campus, and systems for ensuring accurate and updated contact information;
- Plan and execute creative local and national alumnae programs and gatherings that inspire connection, mentorship, professional networking, and lifelong loyalty to GPS;
- Maintain purposeful communication with alumnae leaders to celebrate achievements, share updates, and strengthen the global Bruiser network.
Volunteer Pipeline & Leadership Development
- Partner with the Director of Development to implement a long-range vision for volunteer engagement, identifying and cultivating emerging alumnae and parent leaders for volunteer roles, philanthropic involvement, and opportunities that advance strategic priorities.
Fundraising
- Identify and qualify potential leadership and major gifts prospects for possible addition to the major gifts pipeline;
- Solicit prospective donors for leadership Impact Fund gifts ($1,906+); and
- Solicit businesses and individuals for event-based fundraising sponsorships.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in development, volunteer management, alumnae/parent relations, or community engagement, ideally in an independent school;
- Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Google Drive, and Google Office Suite preferred;
- Proven success managing and motivating volunteers at multiple levels of engagement;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, relationship-centered approach;
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and follow-through;
- Ability to strategically connect day-to-day engagement work to long-term institutional goals; and

Housekeeper
About Girls Preparatory School
Girls Preparatory School (GPS) was founded in 1906 to provide girls with the necessary courses to pursue a college education. GPS has proudly graduated almost 6,000 young women since then. Currently, 120 faculty and staff serve 500 girls in grades 6-12 with a college preparatory curriculum that includes a full complement of humanities, arts, and STEM courses, and cocurricular programs of leadership development, athletics, performing arts, and community engagement.
Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school. The Housekeeper is responsible for an area and will be expected to clean to the frequency and standard set. Full-time and part-time work available.
Reports to
Custodial Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
- Empty wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
- Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and method
- Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
- Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs to 50lbs)

- Teach middle school and/or high school orchestra/strings classes, providing age-appropriate instruction in string technique, musicianship, and ensemble performance;
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support students with varying levels of experience;
- Foster a positive, inclusive rehearsal environment that encourages collaboration and artistic growth;
- Collaborate with the Director of Band and Director of Fine & Performing Arts to coordinate repertoire, concerts, and performances;
- Assess student progress through performances and playing assessments and provide constructive feedback;
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and administrators regarding expectations and performance opportunities;
- Maintain basic records related to attendance, grades, and performances;
- Oversee instrument care and coordinate with families regarding rentals and supplies; and
- Attend required concerts, key meetings, and designated school events. Participate in ETSBOA Junior Clinic auditions and clinics each fall semester.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in music or a related field (Master’s preferred);
- Experience teaching string/orchestra students at the middle school level or equivalent experience with young musicians;
- Strong proficiency on a string instrument and solid knowledge of string pedagogy;
- Experience preparing students for performances and concerts;
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues;

Reporting to the Division Head(s), the person in this role will:
Summary
Implements the daily instructional plans of the classroom. Maintains a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students while maintaining proper classroom management. Works effectively with the teachers to minimize any potential transition problems from teacher to substitute and substitute to teacher.
- Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.

Girls Preparatory School seeks a Director of Golf beginning the 2026-27 school year to provide visionary leadership, strategic oversight, and day-to-day management of the school’s 6th–12th grade golf program.
