Caldwell Fitness Center Renovation Complete Following Community Support

Students will soon return to campus to a transformed Caldwell Fitness Center, following a renovation made possible by the incredible support of the Bruiser community through the 2026 Bruiser Bash paddle raise.

Planning for the project began in early March with a careful evaluation of the existing space and how it could better serve GPS students. The goal was to create a more efficient, welcoming training environment while investing in equipment that would enhance the experience for every girl.

Renovation began in early June and was completed in mid-July, just in time for the start of preseason athletics. The updated facility features new flooring, fresh paint, LED lighting, a redesigned layout that creates a more open and functional training space, a renovated office for Coach Matt Green, and brand-new, state-of-the-art, Bruiser-branded strength and conditioning equipment designed specifically for female athletes.

The renovation was funded through the Bruiser Bash paddle raise in March, where members of the GPS community contributed more than $200,000 to bring the project to life.

"This renovation represents far more than an updated weight room," said Allie Tennyson, Director of Athletics and Strategic Partnerships. "It reflects GPS's commitment to providing every girl with a space intentionally designed for her. Whether she's a varsity athlete, exploring fitness for the first time, or developing lifelong healthy habits, the Caldwell Fitness Center is a place where every student can build confidence, strength, and resilience. We also hope it becomes another source of pride for our community—a space that inspires our students every time they walk through the doors and reflects the continued investment GPS is making in their experience."

The renovated Caldwell Fitness Center reflects GPS's ongoing commitment to creating spaces that support the whole girl. Whether students are preparing for competition, participating in physical education, or prioritizing lifelong wellness, the facility will serve generations of Bruisers as they grow stronger, healthier, and more confident.
