Winterim

Winterim is a long-standing tradition at GPS, when we pause classes and all grades spend four days (or more, in some cases) diving into experiential learning opportunities. Through interactions and engagement with the world, whether riding horses at a dude ranch, exploring the workings of state government, traveling to NYC, learning archery skills, or appreciating the natural world in our own backyard, GPS students and faculty venture out into new and unique experiences.

I had the opportunity to go on a Winterim trip my junior year to Costa Rica for language and cultural immersion, which really influenced my decision to major in Spanish in college. I loved learning about a new culture and connecting to people I had never met, all while learning and speaking a new language. It was truly a life-changing experience, and I am so excited to further my study of the Spanish language because of this trip!” Sloane E '25
