We believe athletics are a powerful vehicle for building confidence, resilience, leadership, and character. On our fields, courts, rivers, tracks, and in our pools, GPS athletes discover what they are capable of achieving.
Established in 2003, the GPS Athletic Hall of Fame honors the athletes, coaches, teams, and supporters whose extraordinary achievements and lasting contributions have shaped the proud tradition of Bruiser athletics. Beyond championships and records, Hall of Fame inductees exemplify the values that define GPS: character, sportsmanship, leadership, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact both in competition and in their communities.
Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Categories
Athlete
Graduates who distinguished themselves through exceptional achievement as varsity student-athletes at GPS. Nominees become eligible 10 years after high school graduation.
Coach or Administrator
Individuals whose leadership, mentorship, and dedication made a lasting impact on GPS athletics. Coaches and administrators are eligible following retirement from GPS.
Team
Varsity teams whose accomplishments represent extraordinary athletic success, including championship seasons and other historic achievements.
Supporter or Contributor
Individuals whose volunteerism, generosity, professional expertise, or advocacy has significantly strengthened GPS athletics and enriched the experience of student-athletes.
Selection Criteria
Hall of Fame inductees are selected based on a combination of:
- Athletic achievement and competitive excellence
- Leadership and sportsmanship
- Character and integrity
- Lasting contributions to GPS athletics
- Impact on the GPS community and beyond
timeline
Anyone may submit a nomination for consideration. Nominations are reviewed annually by the GPS Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, and a select group of inductees is honored each year.
The nomination period opens each May and closes in October, with the induction ceremony held each winter in conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
