    Dear GPS Summer Camp Families:

    I hope this email finds you and your family healthy and well. As promised, I am sending an update regarding our plans for GPS Summer Camp 2020.

    We are moving forward with a selection of camps in July. Please see below for the list of current offerings for July as well as a list of cancellations and information about refunds. All-Summer-Long families, I will be in touch to finalize your camp selections.

    Please know that while camps might look a little different, we are committed to providing just as much fun as every other summer!

    CANCELED CAMPS & REFUNDS
    The following camps are canceled and will not be rescheduled:
    • Balance Studios: Super Hero Training Camp
    • Rock/Creek Adventure Camp
    • Tennis Camp July 6-10, July 13-17, & July 20-24
    • Summer Dance Intensive
    • STEM Camp
    • Sprouts Cooking: Cooking Science Camp
    • Sprouts Cooking: Bites, Camera, Action!
    • Rowing Camp (both weeks)
    Families who have registered for any of these camps will be issued full refunds. Or, if you would like to enroll your child in one of our other camps, you have the option to “rollover” into a different camp and use fees already paid as a credit. Please note that enrollment is subject to availability. Please contact me before June 15 to request a refund or transfer to another session.

    If you wish to cancel your July registrations for any camps and receive a full refund, please email me.


    HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS

    In an effort to keep your children safe, we will be implementing the following:

    IMPORTANT ADJUSTMENTS TO OUR PROGRAMS
    • We are limiting the number of campers per session.
    • No lunch or snacks will be offered, full day campers will need to bring their own. We suggest brown bags labeled with names. 
    • Free swim will be available for Camp Kaleidoscope & Bruiser Camp in small group rotations. 
    • No after-camp care will be available. Half day campers must be picked up at noon. Full Day will end at 3:30 p.m. If you have already selected before/after care for your session, you will be refunded in full. 
    • No swim, tennis, or ukulele lessons will be offered. All those previously purchased will be refunded.
    HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS
    • The temperature of each child, counselor, and staff will be checked each morning. Parents cannot send sick children to camp.
    • If your child has an underlying health condition, they should not attend camp.
    • Handwashing and hand sanitizers will be used throughout the day.
    • There will be no off-campus field trips.
    • Social distancing protocols will be practiced by staff and all campers.
    • Disinfectants will be applied frequently to surfaces and equipment.
    • Efforts will be made to limit sharing of materials and equipment.
    • Use of common areas will be limited.
    • There will be frequent cleaning of common areas.
    • No outside visitors or guests will be allowed onto campus.
    • All absences will be monitored.
    • Campers will be assigned to groups of no more than eight campers and two counselors.
    • Rules for games will be changed to encourage no or low contact.

    GPS SUMMER CAMP + COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT | APRIL 27, 2020

    Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to provide you with an update regarding our plans for GPS Summer Camp 2020.
    • June camps are canceled. Families who have registered for camps taking place in June will be issued full refunds. Refunds will begin being processed the week of May 4-8.
    • July camps are under consideration and more information will be forthcoming. We plan to have a decision by June 1. If a decision is made sooner, we will be in touch. If July camps are canceled, full refunds will be issued.
    • Should any families wish to receive a refund for the entire summer (including July camps), they may request it now. Email Lexi King at aking@gps.edu.
    • All-Summer-Long Families: You will be refunded in full for June camps. If you wish to cancel your July registrations and receive the refund, please email Lexi King.
    • Courses for Credit: Our courses for credit (World Religion and History of Christianity) will take place virtually.
    Please know that the safety of our campers and staff is our priority. We at GPS are in close communication with city and county health officials and will continue to monitor the situation and respond accordingly.
