  • Safe Sitter's Training With We R CPR

    Safe Sitter's Training With We R CPR

    The Safe Sitter program teaches you everything you need to know to be safe when you are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting for hire. Learn life-saving rescue skills such as how to rescue someone who is choking as well as helpful information including what to do during severe weather. These babysitting lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Learn first aid and even use CPR manikins to practice CPR or choking rescue.

    Do you like to discover how things work? Are you always inventing and building new things? Are chemical reactions your absolute favorite? If you love learning how and why (or why not), then STEM Camp is the place for you! Spend a week investigating multiple areas in science, technology, engineering, and math using the many tools of the trade available at GPS—3-D printers, computers, VR, Legos, and more.

  • Geometry Course | For Credit

    Grades: 9-12*
    Dates: June 3-July 3 (Monday-Thursday) & July 8-12 (Monday-Friday)
    Time: 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
    Instructor: Mrs. Jennifer McClelland, GPS math teacher (Room D244)
    Cost: $800 (includes lunch)
    *This course is for GPS students only. Registration for the course must be approved by the GPS Math Department Dean and Upper School Division Head.

    The geometry course offers a formal deductive and inductive approach to the study of Euclidean geometry. Students develop skills in thinking logically, reading with understanding, writing proofs, and developing concepts of spatial relationships in two and three dimensions.

    Why wait until the first days of sixth grade at GPS to find out what to expect? Learn about daily life in the Middle School—schedules, routines, and expectations. Through games, campus scavenger hunts, multimedia presentations, science experiments, and more, you will become familiar with the campus and buildings, faculty and staff, advisory system, planners, homework expectations and management, schedules, and so much more! Sneak Peek helps calm those anticipatory jitters and boost your comfort and confidence for the start of school. Stay the whole day by adding afternoon activities with Bruiser Camp.

    This course seeks to examine how five of the world’s major religious traditions approach the fact of Eternal Truth in an attempt to reconcile themselves with it. By studying major themes in the philosophy of religion and seminal texts from Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and Islam, students will come to understand both a life that is lived from each of these various perspectives as well as the goals towards which each perspective strives. This course satisfies the religion requirement. ½ credit (1 semester).
