Joe has been an integral part of the GPS faculty since August 2022, where he leads the physics classes with passion and dedication. He earned his BS in physics from the United States Naval Academy, bringing a strong academic foundation to his teaching career. Joe arrived at GPS with a decade of teaching experience from Sacred Hearts Academy, an all-girls school in Honolulu, Hawaii. There, he taught regular, Honors, and AP Physics and Astronomy. Joe's initiative in establishing an AP Physics program resulted in exceptional student performance, consistently ranking at the top of both state and national averages. At GPS, Joe continues to inspire and challenge students through his engaging teaching methods in regular, Honors, and AP Physics. He emphasizes hands-on, real-world activities, allowing students to learn by doing and fostering a deep understanding of the subject. Bringing a unique perspective to his classroom, Joe's background as a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy adds a rich layer of real-world experience. During his naval career, he flew helicopters, traveled globally, and retired as a Commander, enriching his teaching with diverse experiences. Joe is committed to nurturing a love for physics in his students, preparing them for future academic and career success.
