Mary P. Tanner, PhD

Dr. Mary Tanner retired in 2013 after serving as interim provost at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Prior to that assignment, she served as the Dean of College of Health, Education and Professional Studies for 17 years. During her tenure as dean, she expanded UTC's graduate programs to create and administer three doctoral-level programs. Active on volunteer boards in Chattanooga throughout her career, in addition to GPS, she currently serves ArtsBuild, Siskin Children's Institute, and Memorial Hospital. Mary lives in North Georgia and is the mother of two sons.
