Alice Smith Harris '03, Director of Enrollment and Financial Aid

Alice Smith Harris, Class of 2003, received her Bachelor of Science in hospitality management from the University of Mississippi in 2007. Working for almost 10 years at The Episcopal School of Knoxville (ESK) in Knoxville, Tennessee, a Pre-K 3 through eighth grade school, Alice served as a classroom assistant, development associate, Director of Special Events, and the Director of Admission. She also coached middle school cross country, girls basketball, and coed soccer and helped start the school’s chapter of the national program Girls on the Run.
Alice joined the GPS Admission Team in the fall of 2017 and has served as the Director of Admission for Middle School and currently serves as a seventh-grade advisor. Having moved into the role of Director of Enrollment and Financial Aid, she is responsible for strategically building and implementing a robust admission process to attract mission-appropriate students with a focus on retention of the current student population. Alice has an innate understanding of GPS as a legacy, alumna, and community member plus an advocate of and a firm believer in the power of an all-girls education.

Alice returned to Chattanooga in 2017 with her husband, Jim, their son, Ben, and daughter, Allie, who will one day be a fourth-generation GPS girl.
