Pamela Hammonds, Senior Communications Specialist
Pamela Hammonds started her GPS career in 2017 along with her daughter, who joined the Class of 2021 as a freshman. Initially hired as the Senior Writer, she also held titles of Marketing and Communications Manager, Associate Director of Communications, and Director of Communications and Marketing before becoming the Senior Communications Specialist in 2023.
A graduate of Ball State University (Muncie, Indiana) with a Bachelor of Science in marketing, her career began in retail marketing and then she worked in corporate and nonprofit as a marketing director before launching a regional parenting magazine. Before moving to Tennessee from North Texas in 2016, she worked as a freelance writer and editor and then as the editor of a lifestyle magazine in the Dallas market. Pamela's appreciation for single-sex education offered an easy transition into her role at GPS as she saw the benefits firsthand with her daughter.
She and her husband, Brian, have two adult sons and a daughter-in-law. Her daughter is a student at UMass in Amherst.
