The MBD Girl Edition entrepreneurial conference is specially designed to encourage girls to become bold entrepreneurs—#girlpreneurs.
At this free event, girls gain the skills, confidence, and connections to jumpstart their business or social venture idea; connect with other girls who think big; and gain inspiration from mentors who can help make their dreams a reality.

24HR Generator

24HR Generator—for 11th and 12th grade girls
As a team, you will be presented with a problem a local business is experiencing. With the help of a mentor, collaborate on ideas to solve them. Spend 24 hours testing and trying solutions before making a final pitch with your team to a panel of judges for a cash prize. Get ready for a challenge!
The Generator begins on the afternoon of Friday, March 16, with final presentations on Saturday, March 17.

Girls' Marketplace

Girls’ Marketplace—for girls ages 8-18
Do you have a product or service to sell? Start preparing your products and planning how you’ll wow your customers with a booth in the Marketplace, which is open to the public. Judges will award a cash prize to the girl-owned business with the all-around strongest presentation. Apply for the Girls' Marketplace!
Get Ready for the Girls’ Marketplace
Once you have applied for the Girls' Marketplace, get ready for your business debut by attending any of these free educational seminars, open to the public. All workshops are from 2-4 p.m. and will be hosted at the downtown Chattanooga Public Library.

  • Saturday, February 3—Branding Basics and Your Target Audience

    Take a look at three factors simple factors that can help you understand your brand: vibe, lifestyle, and story. After, We'll do an exercise to help you understand who your target audience (or ideal customer) is! You'll leave with a worksheet to fill out to help you identify how your brand should come together based off your target audience. Register here!
  • Saturday, February 17—Booth Display and Seller Psychology

    Review some popular booth layouts that will help you stand out from the competition and please shoppers. Next, get some tips on how to best interact with your customers so you're professional (while still being yourself) and match your brand. Register here!
  • Saturday, March 3—Finishing Details

    You're almost there. You've got your brand dialed in, your look nailed down, and you know exactly what you'll wear on your big day selling. Now let's review a fantastic checklist that will prepare you for all the little things first time sellers don't usually think of to be sure you look and act like a seasoned pro.
