Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning best Musical, Annie JR is set in New York City in 1933 and features the same cast of characters that made the original Annie a popular book and musical. Annie, with determination and an infectious, positive attitude, sets out to find the parents who abandoned her on an orphanage doorstep and ends up in a new home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
The role of Annie is played by Colette Smith. Addie Youmans plays Miss Hannigan, Joseph Henry plays Oliver Warbucks, and Sadie Kalla plays Grace Farrell. The musical’s familiar songs include Maybe, Hard-Knock Life, Tomorrow, Easy Street, You’re Never Fully Dressed without a Smile, and others.
The performance on Tuesday, Oct. 4, begins at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday’s performance on Oct. 5 is at 7 p.m. Tickets for general admission seating in the GPS Frierson Theatre are $6.
