Taylor Floyd Signs to Play Lacrosse at Division II School

Floyd to continue her career at the collegiate level
Taylor Floyd signs a national letter of intent to play Division II lacrosse for Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, next year. Floyd is the sole goalie for the GPS Bruisers.

“We are honored to be able to call Taylor our own and our only,” says Caroline Carlin, GPS Varsity Lacrosse Coach. “Taylor is always calm and collected and works her best to be focused on the task at hand. She possesses a selfless attitude and willingness to serve her team. Anytime someone wants to step up and play goalie or test it out, she’s the first to say, ‘Hey, coach. Do you want me to help them out? I have some time I can set aside.’ It’s that selfless attitude of Taylor’s we will miss the most—that goal of keeping everybody together. Tusculum is lucky to have her.”

Floyd has played goalie since middle school for the lacrosse team, having participated in several sports including climbing, rowing, and softball before focusing on lacrosse.

“We appreciate Taylor’s commitment to the program and wish her all the best,” says Jay Watts, GPS Athletic Director.

Currently, the GPS varsity lacrosse team’s record stands at 9-6-1. The team next plays Baylor on Wednesday, April 18, at Baylor.
