Roger Dahlke Named as Head Varsity Coach for GPS Swimming

Coach Dahlke's experience makes him "the natural choice to lead our program."
GPS Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Roger Dahlke as the head varsity coach for GPS Swimming. Since 2012, Coach Dahlke has been the head coach and program administrator of McCallie/GPS Aquatics. He also served as the head coach of the Middle School swimming program at McCallie for more than 20 years.

“I am excited and honored to be the next head varsity coach of GPS Swimming and look forward to continuing some traditions as well as starting new ones,” says Dahlke. “I am grateful to GPS for giving me this opportunity.”

Dahlke is the current president of Southeastern Swimming and a USA Swimming Certified Coach. He was the head age group coach at Scenic City Aquatic Club from 2000 to 2012. Dahlke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Tennessee Technological University.

“Roger’s enthusiasm for swimming is clear, and he has an extensive track record of training some of the top female swimmers in this area for quite some time,” says Jay Watts, Athletic Director. “He knows our community and our school and was the natural choice to lead our program into next season.”

Coach Dahlke replaces Coach John Woods, who retired from GPS this summer after 26 years.
