GPS Bowling Wins East Region Title

Bruisers pick perfect time to peak.
The Bruisers appear to be peaking at just the right time of the year. GPS knocked down a season-high pin total of 2682 en route to a 23-4 domination of the Baylor School in the Division II East Region Bowling Championship held today at Spare Time in Hixson. Led by a trio of bowlers that all qualified for the Division II Individual State Championship—Allie Foropoulos, Katelyn Beach, and Molly Burnett—the Bruisers trounced the Raiders 8-0 in the opening game of the match and never looked back.

Foropoulos ended the afternoon with a three-game series of 539 that included a 184 in the opener. She also had a 183 in the final game, one that saw the Bruisers reach a team score of 945. GPS had four bowlers all notch scores of 161 or higher in Game 3.

With the win, the Bruisers moved to 11-2 on the season and will hold the top seed from the East at the Division II State Team Championship in Smyrna in two weeks. The Raiders dropped to 11-4 and earned the #2 seed from the East. This was the third time this season that GPS had defeated Baylor in bowling.

Congratulations, Bruisers!
