Lynda Minks Hood '76 Wins 2023 Dare to Dance People's Choice Champion

Top fundraiser for this year's event
The Chattanooga Bar Association Executive Director Lynda Minks Hood '76 and her professional dance partner, Joel Thomas, delivered an upbeat and award-winning performance at this year’s Dare to Dance, benefiting the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area. Lynda raised over $80,000 for the Kidney Foundation crowning her the 2023 People’s Choice Champion. Along with her fundraising efforts, Lynda and Joel won third place overall for their performance. Their dance took the audience through the story of fighting and beating kidney disease. They hoped their performance would honor everyone still fighting.

Lynda said, “The past few months have been a truly amazing experience. The support from our community allowed us to help raise funds for the transportation service line of the foundation. I love helping this community and while it was so fun to dance and compete, the real winners are the kidney patients whose lives will be positively impacted through our efforts.” They dedicated their dance in memory of late CBA member, John Higgason, who battled a 34-year fight with kidney disease.
