    ABOUT GIRLS PREPARATORY SCHOOL:
    Girls Preparatory School (GPS) was founded in 1906 to provide girls with the necessary courses to pursue a college education. GPS has proudly graduated almost 6,000 young women since then. Currently, 130 faculty and staff serve 510 girls in grades 6-12 with a college preparatory curriculum that includes a full complement of humanities, arts, and STEM courses, and co curricular programs of leadership development, athletics, performing arts, and community engagement.
     
    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Girls Preparatory School is looking for an experienced school bus driver for transporting students to and from GPS, following a preplanned route according to a defined time schedule through-out the school year. May include driving in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. Work will follow the school’s academic calendar. Due to this, work hours will be reduced during school closures/breaks (Summer Break, Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, Holidays, etc).
     
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Reporting to the Transportation Manager:
    • Drive safely along designated routes.
    • Obey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations.
    • Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations.
    • Follow a specific timetable while on duty.
    • Assist passengers with disabilities in getting on the bus.
    • Prevent or stop unruly behavior from passengers.
    • Communicate with passengers and employers regarding delays or any issues along a route.
    • Check the bus tires, lights, and oil when needed for essential maintenance.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must possess Class B CDL
    • Must be at least 25 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Must have experience as a bus driver
    • Must have clean commercial driving record, P endorsement, and no air break restrictions

    ABOUT CADEK CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC
    Cadek Conservatory of Music, founded in 1904, is a conservatory for everyone. We offer private and group music lessons for all ages, skill levels, and instruments at our three locations—Girls Preparatory School, The Bright School, and McCallie School.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION
    This position reports to the Cadek Director and is part of the team of instructors at the Conservatory who provide after-school lessons at Cadek’s primary location—Girls Preparatory School.   We anticipate that our classical guitar instructor will need to teach 2-3 days per week.  The ability to teach a half-day on Saturday is highly desirable.

    The primary function of this role is to provide private classical guitar lessons to children and adults of all ages and skill levels.  The ideal candidate will, in addition to teaching classical guitar, also be able to teach an additional stringed instrument, such as (but not limited to) electric guitar or bass, mandolin, or banjo.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Actively recruit and maintain a studio of classical guitar students at Cadek Conservatory of Music.
    • Teach individual lessons to assigned students, beginning through advanced levels, ages 7 and up 
    • Provide each student with the appropriate amount of purchased lessons, adhering to the school calendar.
    • Prepare students with performance etiquette for recitals. 
    • Hold one (1) studio recital each fall and spring semester as well as have selected students perform in Cadek Community Recitals (fall and spring). 
    • Prepare qualified students to participate in Cadek Scholarship Auditions and other Cadek sponsored performance opportunities.
    • Conference with parents and students to address problems or provide direction on students' musical development.
    • Perform administrative tasks associated with students’ attendance, scheduling, and communications.
    • Create and host group classes, workshops, or camp opportunities throughout the year. 


    DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCES, REQUIREMENTS, and CHARACTERISTICS 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Music required, with an emphasis in classical guitar
    • Experience in music instruction, as an instructor and musician, preferred.
    • Ability to teach a second stringed instrument (such as, but not limited to, electric guitar, electric bass, mandolin, or banjo) is highly desirable but not required

    Position Summary
    Girls Preparatory School seeks an instructor who is excited about teaching design technology and computer science skills through a learner-centered lens. In this role, the instructor will both teach classes (primarily in grades 6-8, but with potential for grades 9-12, as well) and work with students and teachers who make use of the design lab. In both formal and informal settings, the instructor will help students understand design and prototyping processes in addition to technological tools.

    This instructor will also manage the design lab. Maintaining and updating a range of equipment, such as 3D printers, a podcast studio, robotics and electronics equipment, a laser cutter, a video studio, VR equipment, and more, the design lab manager will ensure that the lab is outfitted for use by students and faculty. Moreover, the manager will collaborate with students and faculty to complement courses and projects across the curriculum.

    Our faculty strives to create personalized learning environments that are responsive to girls’ academic and individual needs. Being a teacher at GPS means working in an inclusive team setting where shared ideas and constructive feedback are the fabric of our faculty culture. We seek a design technology and computer science teacher whose daily instructional plans and broader curricular design are authentic, equitable, competency-based, innovative and reflective of 21st-century learning best practices.     Teaching Duties and Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Division Head(s) and the STEM Department Chair, the person in this role will
    • Teach 2-3 sections of design technology and computer science classes using a learner-centered approach. Exact teaching assignments shift from year to year based on school needs and faculty interest, but will include technology courses in middle school, with potential for upper school courses in the future;
    • Manage the GPS design lab, maintain equipment, and collaborate with students and faculty on projects;
    • Design and maintain a design lab environment that supports girls’ academic and personal growth;
    • Plan, develop, and execute lessons that reflect our broader curriculum and adapt to the needs of students as they progress;
    • Establish effective rapport with students within a supportive and equitable classroom culture;
    • Implement a variety of learner-centered pedagogical approaches to instruction and assessment;
    • Evaluate and communicate student progress; 
    • Demonstrate knowledge of best practices in differentiated instruction;
    • Collaborate with learning support specialists in order to meet the needs of students with learning differences;

    About Girls Preparatory School
    Girls Preparatory School seeks an experienced Director to innovate and initiate the philanthropic work of its storied school for girls. The ideal candidate will have a heart for all-girls education and be devoted to the work of the adults on campus entrusted with the growth of the next generation of female leaders.

    Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Director of Development is responsible for creating and implementing strategies, goals, and programs that generate philanthropic support and promote alumnae, parent, grandparent, alumnae parent, and community engagement. He or she ensures the success of all development efforts, including annual giving, major and planned giving, and capital and endowment campaigns. The Director of Development manages a department of five to seven staff members responsible for the stewardship of the School. As leader of the Development Office, the Director plays a critical role in elevating the culture of philanthropy at GPS to advance the mission, values, and vision of the School.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the development office, including the effectiveness and efficiencies of all processes and systems, the accuracy of donor histories and gift reporting, and the timeliness of stewardship.
    • Cultivate a culture of collaboration and communication among the development team, mentoring and guiding staff members with clear goals and regular feedback, and ensuring the office is optimally structured and staffed.
    • In collaboration with the Chief Advancement Officer, develop and implement both long-range and short-term strategic plans for Development, including growing the number of donors, the consistency of giving, and the giving levels of current donors to otherwise strengthen the culture of philanthropy among all GPS constituents. 
    • Develop and refine strategies to strengthen the School’s culture of philanthropy by providing education programs for and communications to the GPS community, specifically for students, faculty/staff, trustees, parents, grandparents, alumnae, and alumnae parents so that all community members understand the importance of giving.
    • Partner closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing to maintain accurate and consistent messaging to both internal and external constituencies regarding GPS’s mission, vision, values, accomplishments, and case for support. 
    • Create the annual operating plan for development activities of GPS and oversee their execution to ensure achievement of the School’s philanthropic revenue goals.
    • Oversee the ongoing identification, research, assignment, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all current and potential donors.
    • Continually seek new sources of philanthropic gifts, such as from new families or by reestablishing and strengthening relationships with alumnae and alumnae parents.
    • With the Director of Alumnae Relations, strengthen connections with alumnae and alumnae parents by developing multiple and varied avenues through which graduates and their families can engage with GPS and with each other.
    • With the Director of Special Events & Parent Engagement, foster a strong sense of community through special events and relationship building, and ensuring that all donors and volunteers feel valued and appreciated.
    • With the Director of Annual Giving, cultivate and implement a robust and ambitious plan to meet or exceed the goal for the annual fund.
    • Ensure all development volunteers are given clear expectations and the training and tools necessary to fulfill their role and support the school’s fundraising goals.  
    • Administer and monitor the Development budgets and policies (e.g., Gift Acceptance Policy, Events Policy.) 
    • Maintain ongoing communication and an effective partnership with the business office.

  • + Major Gifts Officer

    About Girls Preparatory School
    Girls Preparatory School seeks an experienced Major Gifts Officer to manage a robust portfolio of alumnae, parents, grandparents, and friends of the School. The ideal candidate will have a heart for all-girls education and be devoted to the work of the adults on campus entrusted with the growth of the next generation of female leaders.

    Reporting to the Director of Development, the MGO is responsible for expanding the School’s donor base and strengthening relationships with its constituencies. The MGO will perform a key role in the qualification and solicitation of the most philanthropically capable individuals and families to secure leadership annual gifts, major gifts, and planned gifts. This is a largely external-facing position, requiring both local and national travel. 


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Maintain current knowledge of school and campaign funding needs and priorities; identify prospective donors for those needs;
    • Manage a portfolio of approximately 125-175 alumnae, parents, grandparents and friends capable of making gifts of $25,000+;
    • Complete a minimum of 120 face-to-face visits with assigned prospects each year;  
    • Secure leadership gifts from assigned prospects;
    • Plan strategies from cultivation to gift closure and implement those strategies in coordination with DOD and Chief Advancement Officer; report progress toward achievement;
    • Work with the DOD and Development team to ensure donors are recognized and well stewarded;
    • Conduct screening meetings and develop philanthropic profiles with assigned prospects;
    • Assist specific Reunion Class committees with Reunion Gift Campaigns, as needed;
    • Travel for events, volunteer meetings, and prospect meetings and work evenings and weekends as needed; and
    • Perform other tasks or projects as determined by DOD, CAO, and Head of School.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    POSITION SUMMARY:  The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school. The Housekeeper is responsible for an area and will be expected to clean to the frequency and standard set. This position is an afternoon/evening shift (Estimated shift: 2pm -10pm).

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
    • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
    • Empty wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
    • Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
    • Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
    • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
    • Perform other duties as directed.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and method
    • Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
    • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend

    · Maintains appropriate certifications and training as required. Follows and maintains knowledge of all US Squash policies, rules and procedures.

    · Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with all students, staff, parents and officials and resolves conflict in a professional manner. Professionally represents Girls Preparatory School at all times.
     
    Requirements:
    Bachelor’s Degree Required
    Must hold a valid TN or GA Drivers’ License
    A minimum of two (2) years coaching girls squash or playing squash at the collegiate level
