Saray Taylor-Roman brings a unique blend of teaching experience, artistic talent, and a global perspective to her role as a Spanish teacher. She was born and raised in Mexico, where she attended an all-girls high school, and her cultural roots are at the heart of her work. As a teacher, avid traveler, and artist, Saray is passionate about creating meaningful connections in the classroom. Saray began her career teaching Spanish before transitioning to full-time portrait photography, where she earned international recognition for her work that merges fine art and personal storytelling. Her academic journey includes studies in education and psychology at UJAT in southern Mexico and Spanish literature at UNAM in Taxco. She has also studied abroad in Japan and spent extended time in South Korea and Germany, experiences that fuel her passion for cross-cultural connections and creative expression. She currently serves as a long-term sub as a Spanish teacher at Webb School of Knoxville, and previously spent many years as a Spanish teacher at Oak Ridge High School. Saray and her family love to volunteer and spend their summers traveling and translating for medical brigades in Spanish-speaking countries. She also enjoys biking and spoiling their rescue cat, Tito. Her daughter, Sophia, is a GPS middle-schooler.
