GPS | McCallie Production of Newsies Earns 12 Jewel Award Nominations, Including Best Musical

Girls Preparatory School and McCallie School are thrilled to announce that their joint production of Newsies has received 12 nominations from the Jewel Awards, Chattanooga’s premier high school theater honors hosted by the Tivoli Theatre Foundation. Among the nominations is the prestigious Best Musical—an honor that also means the cast will perform a selection from the show at the Jewel Awards ceremony on May 10 at Memorial Auditorium.

Performed in April, Newsies brought together the talents of GPS and McCallie students in a high-energy, inspiring production filled with dynamic choreography, rich storytelling, and standout performances. Their hard work and dedication have now been recognized across multiple categories, celebrating excellence in performance, direction, design, and technical execution.
