Upper School Play Sells Out Showings

Peter and the Starcatcher completes its three-show run
Over the weekend, GPS and McCallie Upper School students took the the McCallie Black Box Theater stage to perform Peter and the Starcatcher, a take on Peter Pan. The show served as the directorial debut for Chelsea Padro in her new role as the GPS | McCallie Director of Theater and Musicals, though she has extensive experience in previous positions.

Chelsea said the show was an easy choice, as it’s been popular among the high school theater circuit for a few years now, since it’s a fun spin on a story most people know. The selection proved to be a good one, with each of the weekend’s shows being performed for sold-out crowds. Amongst a cast of 30+ students, Ebba Cox ’25 shone in the lead female role, Molly, while McCallie’s Jack Rogers played the titular role.

About the show, Chelsea said, “There are a lot of talented, dedicated students that brought their own unique creativity to this production. I love seeing the students work together to solve problems and create something that is both meaningful and magical!”
