  • + Fletcher Bright Fellowship

The Fletcher Bright Fellowship for Inspiring Artistic and Community Engagement is awarded to a rising GPS senior with the goal of fostering growth as she develops a discerning sense of inquiry and explores an area of concentration that brings excitement and sensitivity of wonder. This monetary award allows the winning fellow to channel her passion for dance, music, theater, or any of the arts in a way that enriches the diverse communities in our region. Fellows can use funds for lessons, workshops, master classes, summer programs, supplies, travel, or to underwrite a final performance/exhibit.
  • + Girls Outdoor Leadership Education (GOLE)

New this school year, our Girls Outdoor Leadership Education program focuses on developing girls' leadership skills from within and is specifically designed to help students discover their strengths and opportunities in leadership within the natural beauty of Chattanooga. Through the program, students explore what the GPS core values mean to them and how their actions to uphold these values impact our people, community, and environment. GOLE builds skills such as agency, advocacy, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and resilience.
  • + Laureate Scholars

Laureate Scholars Program is an academic initiative that provides a personalized learning pathway designed to help girls dig deep into an area of personal interest while developing skills and insights that will prepare them for life beyond GPS. Open to motivated sophomores and juniors, the program invites participants to explore a self-selected concentration area through coursework, cocurricular experiences, independent projects, and community involvement.
  • + Partnerships in the Community (PIC)

The primary objective of Partnerships in the Community is to prepare GPS students to be the most engaged members and leaders of our current and future communities. Each class elects two representatives who organize and identify community service opportunities. Members of PIC have volunteered at numerous organizations around the city including Habitat for Humanity, Northside Neighborhood House, and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
  • + Terpsichord

Terpsichord is one of the longest-running modern dance companies of its kind in the country. Throughout her time in the program, each dancer is given the opportunity to lead and share her voice through original choreography developed during technique, improv, and composition classes. This experience of exploration, active communication, and technical proficiency allows girls to grow and bond while sharing highly developed and inspirational pieces in front of friends, family, and peers.
  • + Tucker Fellows

Tucker Fellows is a program that allows fellows to engage in experiential learning about the many issues impacting the local watershed and the Chattanooga region. Fellows focus on leadership skills and work with local experts as they collect, analyze, and publish data and carry out projects for a better community.
  • + Winterim

For one week in February, GPS pauses traditional classes for a week and dives into experiential learning unrestricted by the regular school day’s boundaries of space and time. Winterim provides a key opportunity for students to try new things, make interdisciplinary connections, gain skills like collaboration and resilience, create memories, and learn joyfully. Middle school students enjoy their Winterims as a grade, with eighth-graders exploring Washington D.C., while upper school students select from myriad options including local experiences and international travel.

At GPS, I found the most kind and loyal friends and teachers who really care about helping us. I was challenged every day and we were given so many new and exciting opportunities. I learned so much and made so many amazing memories during my time at GPS!
