Johnel Angel Evans ’92
Johnel Angel Evans '92 is the vice president of Global Inclusion and Diversity for Becton Dickinson (BD) in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, where she is responsible for advancing BD's cultural priorities by advising corporate executive leadership and attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent to ensure a culture of inclusion, fairness and engagement. Her more than 20 years of HR and leadership experience spans multiple Fortune 500 companies including Honeywell, PepsiCo Frito Lay, Allstate Insurance, Medtronic, and International Paper. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis and MBA from The University of Tennessee (Knoxville). Evans was named a fellow by the New Memphis Institute and honored by the Memphis Business Journal as one of Memphis Top 40 Under 40. She previously served as a founding and governing board member for Freedom Preparatory Academy charter school in Memphis, Tennessee, and as a strategic marketing committee member at Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, National Black MBA Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Evans, her husband, Dan, and their two children, Riley and Aidan, live in Sparta Township, New Jersey.
