What Will She Discover This Summer?

At GPS Summer Camp, your daughter can spend her summer learning, playing, laughing, and meeting new friends. She can hone her skills in an already beloved sport or uncover a love for acting, dancing, diving, or even yoga. Regardless of the path she chooses, GPS Summer Camp is designed to help your daughter discover more about who she is and what she wants to learn. Whether she wants to come for a week or two or spend the whole summer with us, GPS counselors are poised and ready to provide her an unforgettable experience.

Summer schedules can be challenging to navigate at times, so we have made it easy to plan your daughter’s camp adventures. With half-day and all-day camps to choose from, you can be comfortable in knowing she will have a blast while she’s here.

Meet Our Director

Summer Camp at GPS is a longstanding tradition for many families in our area, and this summer our children need it more than ever. I am thrilled to have the unique privilege of continuing this community offering along with adding new opportunities to best serve our campers. As a kid, my summers were spent in sports camps and playing outdoors until the sun went down. That same play-until-you-can’t-play-anymore spirit abounds here at GPS. And by “play,” we mean cook, dance, run, cheer, row, swim, paint, act, sing … Whatever makes your child happy, we have it here at GPS Summer Camp.

Our camp offerings allow kids to gain confidence from learning new skills, grow their interests and passions, and build friendships that help them flourish. While most of our camps are just for girls, we do host a few coed camps or suggest the myriad offerings at our brother school, McCallie. I don’t know about you, but I can’t WAIT for summer! I hope your child joins us for one or more camps this year.

  • + COVID Procedures + Guidelines

GPS Summer Camp has created a set of procedures and protocol to promote a safe camp environment. We continue to monitor and update our COVID related policies by following guidance from the American Camping Association, CDC, and the Hamilton County Health Department.

Campers and staff will participate in a health screening each morning of camp. Screening will include symptoms questions and a temperature check.

As mask guidance from the Hamilton County Health Department evolves, our mask policy will be evaluated. At this time, counselors will wear masks during drop-off and check-in. Coaches, staff, counselors, and campers will wear masks inside when 6ft cannot be maintained and outside when they cannot maintain proper social distancing. All campers must bring their own masks each day.

As is customary with GPS Summer Camps, our campers will remain in cohorts of no more than 18 with two counselors. Cohorts will remain socially distanced from other cohorts except during swimming.

We will follow CDC guidelines for maintaining social distancing on and off campus.

As is customary with GPS Summer Camps, if a camper shows illness symptoms, we will contact parents to pick up the camper within one hour. Campers must be symptom-free for 24 hours. The rest of the cohort will be closely monitored for COVID symptoms.

If a camper tests positive for COVID-19, we will contact parents in that cohort. Campers in the cohort will be sent home for the remainder of the camp session.

If a camper tests positive for COVID and the cohort is shut down, parents will receive a prorated refund based on the number of days attended.

We will continue to monitor the recommendations and options for vaccination against COVID. At this time, we are strongly encouraging camp staff to get vaccinated if they are eligible.

Participation in GPS Summer Camp Is Completely Voluntary
    • By voluntarily enrolling your child(ren) in GPS Summer Camps, you acknowledge and agree that you are assuming the risk of possibly contracting COVID-19 by you and/or your children.
    • Further, you acknowledge and agree that you are voluntarily  waiving any claim of liability against the school should you/your children contract COVID-19 as a result of participating in our summer programs.
    • Further, you expressly agree to hold the school harmless should  you/your children contract COVID-19 as a result of your and your children’s voluntary participation in GPS Summer programs.

Carefully curated experts are also brought on campus to enrich our offerings in certain areas, such as for our Safe Sitter Camps.
