Linda Mines

History & Social Sciences; 27 years
As former Chairman of the History and Social Sciences Department, Linda Moss Mines spent 27 years inspiring girls to learn more about their world through classes such as the Modern Presidency and Global Conflicts. She also served as faculty advisor for the school’s Partnerships in the Community Council, playing an instrumental role in encouraging student involvement in area nonprofits. In 2016, she was the recipient of the Tennessee Association of Independent School’s Hubert Smothers Excellence in Teaching Award and most recently was named by the American Lung Association of Chattanooga as a Woman of Distinction.
