Becca Stimson '73, Ph.D.

Dr. Becca Stimson ’73 is not only a GPS alumna, but she is also the mother, aunt, daughter, niece, and sister of GPS alumnae. She brings to her position of board chair a wealth of experience that spans science, business, and education. Before joining the faculty at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga as a professor, Stimson spent 26 years with the DuPont Company, starting as a research chemist and serving in various managerial positions. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College and a master’s and doctorate from Northwestern University. Stimson was a founder of The Fund for Women at the Delaware Community Foundation and served on boards for the YMCA and TTU Library Foundation in Cookeville, Tennessee. She is a former member of the Davidson College Board of Trustees and continues to serve on their Athletic Foundation and Visitors Boards. Stimson was inducted into the Athletic Halls of Fame at both GPS and Davidson College. Married to Dr. Tom Jenkins, she and her husband have two children, a son and daughter '14.
