The GPS Rowing teams were on the road on April Fools' Day for a scrimmage against Nashville Rowing, the defending Southeast U17 Regional Champion. “Nashville is a very fast and strong club team in our region and the GPS girls put forth an excellent fight against their boats. The varsity boat held off their 2V, and our 2V put up a good fight against their third boat,” Coach Megan McCourt said of her Bruisers. The crew rowed the 6x1000 meters at race pace, 32-36 strokes per minute. “This was a great opportunity for our team to go against a talented crew and push ourselves to our maximum potential,” McCourt added.

On Sunday, Larkin Brown and Ashlen Carroll attended a USRowing Junior National Team ID Camp in Oak Ridge, TN. Both student athletes came close to setting PR's on the 2000-meter erg test and had an opportunity to row for junior national team coaches. This trial is an important step for all junior rowers striving to make one of the national junior team camps this summer.
