Brooke McCurdy Signs to Play NCAA Division III Basketball

McCurdy to join the Scots at Maryville College
Brooke McCurdy signs a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division III basketball for Maryville College in Greeneville, Tennessee.

Brooke is one of the all-time best scorers in the history of our program," says Jay Watts, Athletic Director and Head Varsity Basketball Coach. "Her countless hours in the gym refining her craft have paid huge dividends for our team. More than just an offensive powerhouse, she carries herself with a high level of personal integrity and is a fierce competitor. Brooke will be sorely missed next season, but I look forward to seeing all of the amazing things she can accomplish at the next level.

McCurdy came to GPS her eighth-grade year. She also played volleyball and ran track as an eighth- and ninth-grader. She made the all-region, all-state, and all-tournament (Best of Preps) teams her junior year. She scored her 1000th point during her junior year and was named to Best of Preps Teams her junior and senior years. This year McCurdy was named to the all-region team.

"Brooke is an incredible shooter, but I think to say that she is a scorer sells her game short," Watts continues. "She was second on the team this year in steals. Her defense is very underrated and her knack for reading a play and knowing where the ball is going to be is equal to her shooting ability. We know she will have great success at Maryville."
