Emma Moore Signs to Play Volleyball at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama

Moore to play for the Hawks in NCAA Division III in the fall
Emma Moore arrived at GPS her junior year prepared to make a name for herself on the volleyball court. Previously she played varsity for two years at Gordon Lee High School and was twice named a member of the Walker County Dream Team.

“I’m truly proud of this girl,” says Alfie Dodd, former GPS Head Varsity Volleyball Coach. “She’s very skilled and has amazing court sense. She can serve the ball to any spot, distributes the ball to all hitters, and makes everybody better. I think Huntingdon will be truly pleased with what she gives to the team. And I hope they listen to her because she sees things on the court that amaze you.”

Since playing as setter for the Bruisers, Moore has won an all-region award and was named MVP. She has 1,222 career assists and served as team captain her senior year as well as the team representative for Bruiser Leadership Committee.

“On top of her skills, Emma is a fantastic competitor and also a valuable teammate,” says Callie Hildebrand, Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach. “Due to her competitiveness and deep care for her fellow teammates, she is quick to serve in a leadership role that pushes those around her and demands accountability. I know she is going to carry this same level of leadership and teamwork into her experience at Huntingdon.”

Moore plans to study biology while at Huntingdon College on a pre-med track.

“We are proud of Emma and all that she has been able to accomplish at GPS,” says Jay Watts, GPS Athletic Director. “She will be dearly missed by her teammates next fall, but we look forward to seeing all that she can accomplish at Huntingdon.”
